Social distancing is still at play, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some fancy hooch! If you’ve been feeling down lately, treat yourself to a little something extra with these pretentiously palatable drinks.
BEER: Spaceship #6 IPA – Lineage Brewing
Lineage Brewing is located just a short skip up High Street, but their fine craft beers have tragically only been available at the attached brewpub since they started. That is, until now. Just last month, Lineage has begun to sell carryout cans of their signature brews in 16oz four-packs, and they are well worth the trek. The latest release is their signature drink, Spaceship #6, a 7.2% ABV American IPA. I know, I know, we are all sick of IPAs, but hear me out. This thing is deliciously citrus-y and not too bitter, making it an easy drink for even the pickiest of partiers. You can order it at their website here or just head in and pick some up, but hurry, because they are well on their way to running out.
COCKTAIL: The Libertine
As a bourbon lover, this is one of my all-time favorites. It’s tangy, sweet, and lightly herbal, giving you something complex and impressive-looking to show off to your friends. The only downside is that it takes like five minutes to construct one. My go-to recipe comes courtesy of Saveur, but there are plenty of variations. Just make sure you are getting a decent bourbon as your base, but not something too expensive. I’ve found Four Roses is a good compromise of flavor and price for mixing.
